I. Program Overview

The Advanced Institute for Ocean Research (AIOR), Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), was officially established on December 27, 2023, marking a key step in the efficient implementation of the preparatory work for Shenzhen Ocean University. It serves as an important platform for attracting high-end talents in the marine field and undertakes key tasks such as talent recruitment, talent cultivation, discipline construction, industry-university cooperation, project incubation, major project application, and major platform construction during the preparatory period of Shenzhen Ocean University (SOU). SOU is built with high standards and high levels in Shenzhen, with the goal of establishing a world-class university with distinct marine characteristics. Led by SUSTech, the university's campus construction began on July 20, 2023.
